I see the world as a complex interrelationship of people, things, and emotions. My goal is to make visual sense of the clutter and create a photograph that both attracts attention and maintains interest. When I have created an image that achieves that goal, I am happy.
I received a BFA in photography from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland (now California College of the Arts) in 1976.
I have over forty years experience in the photographic, journalism and printing fields including newspaper photojournalist, newspaper designer, silkscreen printer, graphic designer, and prepress technician. I was chief photographer for the Woodland Daily Democrat newspaper from 1991 to 1998. I operated an equine photography business, photographing horse shows from 2003 to 2008.
